DTAA Terms and Conditions

Enrolment
New students are given the opportunity to attend a trial taster lesson.
To enrol parents must complete an enrolment form and by attending classes accept and agree to the
terms and conditions.
A copy of DTAA terms and conditions is given to all parents / guardians.
It is the responsibility of the parent / guardian to ensure we are notified of any changes of details,
including change of address, telephone number or details of injuries / medical conditions.

Payment
Invoices are issued before the start of each term and sent to parents by email.
Payment must be made either in full or in 2 instalments by dates on invoice.
Monthly payments can be arranged for parents with children attending more than 2 classes per week -
this must be arranged by emailing info@dtaacademy.co.uk
If payments are not received within 2 weeks of the agreed dates students may be unable to continue
attending classes at DTAA.
Payment can be made by bank transfer or cash. Cheques are no longer accepted.
Payment is due for all classes and is not refundable for student absence for reasons such as illness or
family term time holidays.

Discounts
10% discount given on total bill for students taking 3 or 4 classes per week
20% discount given on total bill for students taking 5 or 6 classes per week
Student course: this is suitable for students attending 7 or more classes per week - students can attend
an unlimited number of classes during term time for a set fee.

Uniform
Students are required to wear the correct uniform for all classes.
(Please note that uniform for the preschool classes is optional, but suitable clothing must be worn.)
DTAA hoodies, t-shirts, vests and onesies can be ordered by emailing info@dtaacademy.co.uk.
All other uniform can be ordered from https://dyb.mydancestore.co.uk
There is sometimes second hand uniform available to purchase for £2 per item.
Parents must ensure that all items are named and valuables should not be brought to the hall. Any
uniform items left and not claimed will be placed in the second hand uniform box after 2 weeks.

Termination of attendance
6 weeks notice must be given in writing if a student wishes to cease attending classes.
Fees will still be due even if the student does not attend classes during the notice period.
Teachers and volunteers
All DTAA teachers hold relevant qualifications, are DBS checked and insured.
All DTAA volunteers are DBS checked.

Cancellation of Class
If a class has to be cancelled due to the teacher being ill or unable to get to the hall then we will arrange
an alternative cover teacher. If this is not possible then we will rearrange the class to be held at an
alternative time either in person or via zoom. In the unlikely event that it is not possible to rearrange the
class, then a credit note would be issued for the following term.

Attendance
It is important that students attend classes regularly and inform us if a child needs to miss a lesson.
Regular attendance is vital for making good progress and in order not to fall behind the rest of the class
learning choreography.

Exams
Students will have the opportunity to be entered for ISTD exams for ballet, modern and tap when the
teacher feels that the student is at the required level to be successful in the exam.
Exam fees must be paid by the date stated on the invoice in order for the student to be entered for the
exam.
Students must attend additional exam rehearsals which will be arranged with parents leading up to the
examination, in order for the students to be fully prepared and confident for the exam.
DTAA believes that exams should be a positive experience for all students, and an opportunity for them to
feel a sense of achievement and grow in confidence.

Holiday Workshops
DTAA run workshops during some school holidays - these are additional to term time classes.
Parents of students who attend DTAA will have the opportunity to book places one week before places
are offered to children who do not currently attend DTAA.
Spaces on holiday workshops are secured when payment has been made in full.

Photography and Filming
Photographs and video footage of pupils taken by DTAA may be used on our website/facebook page and
for publicity purposes. If you do not wish your child’s image to be used for these purposes you must
inform us in writing.

Mobile Phones
Mobile phones should remain switched off in students bags at all times whilst on the premises. If a
student urgently needs to use their mobile phone to contact their parent / guardian during a break time
they must ask the teachers permission.
Parents / Guardians can always contact Lisa at the hall by text on 07971 687719. However please only
do this during class time in the event of an emergency or to send a text if the parent will be late to collect
their child.

Lateness
It is vital that students arrive on time for classes. The first part of the dance class involves the warm-up,
and if students miss this they are at risk of injury. Therefore if a student is 10 minutes or more late for a
class they may be required to sit and observe the lesson for health and safety reasons.

Behaviour Policy
DTAA students are expected to behave in a polite and considerate manner at all times to both staff and
other students. If a students behaviour is considered unacceptable, the parent / carer will be contacted
and could result in a student not being allowed to continue attending classes.

Liabilities
DTAA accepts no responsibility for loss or damage of personal belongings whilst on the premises
DTAA accepts no liability for any injuries sustained whilst participating in a class or on the premises.
DTAA holds public liability insurance.

Localised lockdowns and Pandemics
If DTAA cannot deliver classes due to a force majeure or government directive, we shall implement online
classes via Zoom as a replacement at a reduced cost.
If a student is required to self isolate they can join classes via Zoom.
